Well guys, I’ve decided to compose a brief article about the best way best to create music with your computer. When I started out, I could not find something to help me. I didn’t know exactly what to purchase, or where to start. Hopefully this brief article can help you on your quest to making music a enjoyable and rewarding hobby or prospective livelihood.
Loops and SONY ACID Software
When I started to make music I used SONIC FOUNDRY’S ACID MUSIC 3.0. It’s a piece of software that enables you to create music with loops. Loops are little pieces of music, like a drum or synth line. These loops are just a few seconds long, but, of course they loop. This usually means you could draw the loop in for 30 minutes, 60 seconds, whatever length you would like with no distortion or other strange noises once the loop begins at the start. There are lots of sites and businesses that produce loops for manufacturing use. A great deal of these are Royalty Free; this usually means that you can use them in commercial (for-profit) music ) Every one of those businesses which produce these loops has got their own license, which you’ll want to see if you are going to release a record. The permit is usually just a set of rules or terms that say what you can and can not do with a loop. Most the time it is possible to use these Royalty Free loops in commercial recordings, but you can not, for instance, rescue the loops by themselves. You need to stick with the permit.
As far as I know SONIC FOUNDRY was purchased by SONY, so if you’re looking for this software….
– Do a search for ACID PRO, or visit the link at the bottom of the article
– There are different versions of the software; among those variations Is Completely FREE
The Reason to Make
The piece of software I’d like to chat about in this section will be PROPELLERHEADS REASON. This bit of software is much significantly different than ACID. REASON is focused less on loops, and even more on programming. When I state programming, I mean using human sounds, for example, a kick drum, snare, or piano audio. You then use the awesome apparatus to make patterns. REASON contains a potent collection of apparatus. Some of the more important would be that the ReDrum Drum Machine, Synthesizers, and all brand new in 2.5, the mastering devices. I am not going to get into this too much, because there’s simply too far to tell in this report. If you’re interested in using REASON, I advise that you have the tutorial CD-ROM from M-AUDIO. It will provide you with a great idea of how to get started using REASON, and if you think that it will be helpful for you.

The Excellent thing about the two piecesof applications that I discussed in the preceding two paragraphs is that:
– You are able to use ACID for all your loops
– You can use ACID to document vocals and/or guitars in case You’ve Got the gear
– You can use ACID to render your ultimate recording to mp3, wav, aiff, and even more
– You can utilize REASON to program patterns for drums, synths, etc..
(Keep in mind that Both of These programs can do much more than what’s shown above)
The coolest part of this whole issue is you could connect both of these programs. Utilizing a technology called”REWIRE”, created by PROPELLERHEADS you can have both these applications synchronized. Insert a loop in ACID, create a blueprint in REASON, and also have them play back together. When you’re done, you can leave in ACID to have the synchronized songs as one file, or track.
Wait! I have no sound
Okay, so today you’ve got the software to begin creating some great music. Hence that the thing you are missing is noise , speakers, headphones, etc.. I utilize an external audio card M-AUDIO, called OMISTUDIO USB. This thing connects to my pc with the USB port. It has two headphone connections and 2 instrument/mic connections with preamp power. It also includes several speaker relations, in addition to some other connections for genders, etc..
There are many unique kinds of these outside audio machines. Most of them are either USB or FireWire. Many have headset , speaker, and microphone connections and have the necessary drivers to your computer.
